Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9951847A1] Method for sealing plastics against gas diffusion and absorption of water vapour, whereby the plastic is brought into contact with a gaseous fluorine compound which is contained in an enclosed space, whereby the water molecules enclosed in pores between the macromolecules of the plastic are expelled and replaced by the gaseous fluorine compound, which condenses in the pores and seals the plastic against gas diffusion; and a device made according to the method, comprising a space enclosed by a plastic wall into which space the fluorine compound has been introduced.
