[origin: DE19855568A1] The invention relates to a fuel injection valve comprising an axially moveable valve needle (13) which comprises at least one closing body support (17) and one spherical valve closing body (18). According to the invention, the closing body support (17) accommodates the valve closing body (18) in a downstream end area (46). Said valve closing body (18) has at least one flattening (24) on its surface, whereby said flattening is provided with an axial extending component. A channel (47) for the fuel flux is formed between the at least one flattening (24) and an inner side of the closing body support (17). The fuel injection valve is particularly suitable for utilisation in mixture-compressed and ignition controlled internal combustion engines.
