[origin: WO9950775A1] A method for targeted advertising is described, suitable for use with networked devices with a visual display. Advertisements are selected to be presented to a user based on a demographic and psychographic profile of the user, as well as response to previous advertisements by the user. In this way, targeted advertisements can be presented to the user on the visual display. In addition, various input devices are presented to allow the user to perform a transaction associated with the advertisement. Some of these transactions include calling the advertiser, placing an order for the advertised product or service, and requesting more information about the advertised product or service from the advertiser.
