A latch arrangement (10) including a latch bolt connected to release means (16) by a transmisison path (14), normal actuation of the release means causing unlatching of the latch arrangement, the transmission path being adapted such that abnormal initial deformation of part of the transmission path causes a break in the transmission path such that further abnormal deformation of that part of the latch arrangement on the release means side of the break does not release the latch. <IMAGE>
