[origin: DE19814373A1] The invention relates to a biodegradable packaging material, containing: (a) between 45 and 72 wt.% starch, (b) between 18 and 45 wt.% cellulosic fibres, (c) between 0.2 and 10 wt.% fatty separating agent, (d) between 0.05 and 3.0 wt.% emulsifier and (e) between 2 and 15 wt.% water. The invention also relates to a method for producing such a material and to its use for packaging objects, especially food.
