[origin: DE19905413A1] The invention relates to an injector comprising a piezo multilayer actuator for injection systems, especially for common rail diesel injection systems of motor vehicles, whereby the body of the piezo actuator (11) has a square or rectangular cross-sectional profile and, together with a two-limbed pre-tensioning bracket which is mounted along opposite-lying outer surfaces of the actuator body (11), is located inside a longitudinal bore hole (9; 19; 29; 39; 49) of the injector body (10; 20; 30; 40; 50). The inventive injector is characterized in that the longitudinal bore hole (9; 19; 29; 39; 49) comprises an angular cross-sectional shape which has rounded corners and which is fitted to the cross-sectional profile of the actuator body and of the pre-tensioning bracket so that, inside the injector body, space is provided outside of the longitudinal bore hole for a high pressure bore hole (14) which is parallel to the longitudinal axis of the injector.
