Process for leveling metal strips comprises plastically deforming metal strip with a degree of leveling which changes over the width of the strip by a prescribed extent, producing a temperature profile which changes over width of the strip and optionally over the length to influence the tensile stress distribution, and adjusting the degree of leveling by the change of tensile stress distribution.

Es handelt sich um ein Verfahren zum Planieren von Metallbändern, insbesondere zum Beseitigen von Welligkeiten und Bandsäbeln, beim Walzen und/oder Richten und/oder Zugrecken des jeweiligen Metallbandes unter vorgegebenem Bandzug. Das Metallband wird mit einem über die Bandbreite veränderbaren Planiergrad um ein vorgegebenes Maß plastisch verformt. Vor oder nach dem Walzen bzw. Richten oder Zugrecken wird in dem Metallband durch zonenweises Erwärmen oder Abkühlen ein über die Bandbreite und ggf. vorgegebene Bandlänge veränderbares Temperaturprofil zur Beeinflussung der Zugspannungsverteilung erzeugt. Durch die Veränderung der Zugspannungsverteilung wird der Planiergrad eingestellt. <IMAGE>
