The fan, in particular, for ventilating the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle comprises a fan housing (1) incorporating a damping area (2) formed of a damping material penetrable by sound. The housing in the region of the damping area is enclosed by a reflection box (4) - which is made of a sound reflecting material - in such a way that jointly with the fan housing it forms a noise damping resonance space (5).

Ein Gebläse, insbesondere zur Belüftung des Fahrgastraumes eines Kraftfahrzeuges, besteht aus einem Gebläsegehäuse (1) mit eine Gebläsespirale (10) bildenden Wandbereichen, die zumindest teilweise als eine geräuschdämpfende Dämpfungsfläche (2) ausgebildet sind, und einem in dem Gebläsegehäuse (1) angeordneten Radialgebläserad (3). Die Dämpfungsfläche (2) ist dabei aus einem dämpfend schalldurchlässigen Material gebildet. Das Gebläsegehäuse (1) wird im Bereich der Dämpfungsfläche (2) von einem Reflexionskasten (4) so umschlossen, daß der Reflexionskasten (4) zusammen mit dem Gebläsegehäuse (1) und der Dämpfungsfläche (2) einen geräuschdämpfenden Resonanzraum (5) bildet. Der Reflexionskasten (4) ist aus einem schallreflektierenden Material gefertigt. <IMAGE>
