[origin: WO9953966A1] An apparatus for sterilising equipment, such as equipment for surgery or medical examination, such as dental handpieces, endoscopes, catheters. The apparatus comprises a housing, a source of ultraviolet light for illumination of the member, an ozone source, the ozone being forced into internal parts of the equipment. An embodiment of the invention comprises a fiber optic probe adapted to be introduced to internal parts of the equipment, the fiber optic probe having means for reflection of ultraviolet light. The invention further relates to methods for sterilising equipment.
