[origin: DE19816104A1] The invention relates to a device for producing separated electric charges, wherein a flow element is accelerated to a velocity that is greater than Mach 1. Free electrons occur on friction surfaces which are provided with a thermo electric coating and placed on the flow element. Said electrons are detached from the flow element by the surrounding flow medium. Rapid and substantial spatial modification of the electromagnetic field can be caused by the flow element.
