[origin: EP1072436A1] The rubbing on device is used with a book block suspension machine. An adjustable traction transmission (34) is fitted between the conveyor (3) and the rubbing on device (5). This stagelessly alters the relative position between a saddle plate (4) and the position of the rubbing on device to adapt it to the cross-section shape of the book block (2).
