[origin: WO9953926A1] The invention relates to the use of a glucocorticosteroid for the manufacture of a medicament for treating chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in patients having an FEV1.0 value > 65 % of predicted value and < 10 % reversibility in bronchodilator test. The invention further relates to a method for treatment of COPD in patients having an FEV1.0 value > 65 % of predicted value and < 10 % reversibility in bronchodilator test, where a therapeutically effective amount of a glucocorticosteroid is administered to a patient in need of such treatment.
