[origin: DE19818463A1] The method involves transmitting administration procedures via an air interface by a base station. The procedures are received by mobile stations which are located in the reception area. The transmission power control can be activated or deactivated at the base station using status information which are included in the administration procedures. Preferably, at least one bit from the mask 00xx to 11xx of the Radio Fixed Part (RFP) status signals transmitted by the base station is used for transmission power release or holding. Independent on the type of the base station detected using the protocol synchronisation of the mobile station, the mobile station inquires the additional status information for the transmission power control. The inquire result has priority at the operation side.
