[origin: WO9955037A1] A process for transmitting and/or storing information including the steps of embodying information in a first computer file that includes a number of bits, wherein the bits are arranged in consecutive first computer file arrays, each including a predetermined number of bits. Thereafter, generating a first coded data file that includes first file coded arrays by applying a predetermined reversible first coding procedure to the first computer file arrays, wherein each one of the first coded file array is characterized in that it includes a suitable error correcting code for recovering the corresponding first computer file array in the event that errors up to a predetermined first error level are introduced into the first coded file array. Thereafter, generating a second coded data file that includes second coded file arrays by applying a predetermined reversible second coding procedure to the first coded data file arrays, wherein adjacent bits constituting each first coded file array are rearranged to be dispersed one from another within the second coded data files. Thereafter, transmitting and/or storing the second coded file, or a fourth coded file that includes fourth coded file arrays generated from the second coded file as hereinafter defined, via suitable channel means, wherein a predetermined array of P1 bits/pixels may be associated with each bit of the second coded arrays or the fourth coded file arrays, respectively.
