[origin: EP1074500A1] The sample-feeding cylinder (9) of a folding apparatus beyond a web-processing rotary printing machine involves the folding apparatus operable in different folding modes. The samples are separated from the web on a cutting cylinder pair (4,5) and fed to a guide cylinder (9) with a peripheral surface (12), in which are accommodated grip and folding components (13,14). The cylinder contains segments (10,11) positionable relatively to one another. Peripheral surface parts on folding mode changes move outwards in the peripheral surface of the cylinder or inwards between stationary and movable segments of the cylinder.
