[origin: EP1074501A2] The method involves performing individual measurements on lengths of material (B1,2) for the cut positions of the lengths before combining them and deriving the cut positions for the lengths from their individual length measurements and from the common measurement value for the lengths in the combined length (H1). The combined length can be combined with another combined length and cut positions derived as above. An Independent claim is also included for an arrangement for determining cut positions for sheet material in a rotation printer.
