The wiper switch has a pivoted contact wiper (22) displaced in either direction from a central neutral position to bring a movable contact (28) into contact with a cooperating stationary contact (30), under control of a switch wiper (10). The pivot mounting (24) for the contact wiper has 2 U-shaped supports lying on either side of the contact wiper and a bearing block, with initial sideward movement of the contact wiper during the contact opening movement.

Bei einem Wippenschalter, bei dem eine Kontaktwippe durch eine federbelastete Schalthülse einer Betätigungswippe verschwenkt wird, wirkt der Spitzenteil der Hülse mit vom Mittelabschnitt der Wippe nach oben vorstehenden Vorsprüngen oder Höckern derart zusammen, daß eine seitliche Verschiebung der Wippe bis zu einem Anschlag erfolgt, wodurch die sichere Kontaktgabestellung aufrechterhalten wird, bis in einer außermittigen Schnappstellung die Kontakte schlagartig und irreversibel geöffnet werden. Bei der Öffnungsschaltbewegung gleiten die Kontakte im Sinne einer Selbstreinigung aufeinander. <IMAGE>
