[origin: DE19820173C1] The power switch has an electronic release (1) which can be removed from the switch housing after removal of a seal, to allow the release parameters to be set up for the power switch current parameters. The electronic release co-operates with a release magnet (2) for operation of the switch contacts. The release has a monitoring circuit (5a), which blocks the parameter setting of the electronic release upon a galvanic connection between the release and the release magnet. Preferably, the input of the monitoring circuit is provided with a voltage, which is provided at an electronic switch (11) releasing the release magnet.
