[origin: EP1075909A1] Cutting knife has a fixing part with a receiver for fixing to an oscillating drive; a cutting part (22) with a cutter (28, 30); and a number of flat layers (34, 36, 38, 40) joined together, at least two of these layers being made of a metallic material. An Independent claim is also included for a process for the production of the cutting knife comprising producing a number of thin layers (34, 36, 38, 40); hot-joining the layers, preferably by forging to produce a metallic green body for the knife; heat treating by hardening or tempering; and post-processing the green body by grinding and/or polishing.
