Abstract (en)
The method involves treating the inner or outer surface of the chimney pipe with a fluid containing an inorganic-organic hybrid polymer and then drying it. Preferably, the polymer is fluorosilane. Preferably, the chimney surface is treated for long enough for the fluorosilane to flow into the capillaries formed in the ceramic. The pipe may be immersed in or sprayed with fluid and may be heated. An Independent claim is included for a chimney with a vapour barrier formed according to the method.

Ein Verfahren zur Erzeugung einer Dampf- und Feuchtigkeitssperre in einem keramischen Kamin-Rauchrohr, bei dem die Innen- und/oder Außenfläche des Rauchrohrs mit einer ein anorganisch-organisches Hybridpolymer oder ein Fluorsilan enthaltenden Flüssigkeit behandelt und anschließend getrocknet wird.
