Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1077095A2] Device for hydromechanically de-scaling continuously cast slabs and/or hot-rolled metal strips made of steel comprises water spraying nozzles (1, 1') for spraying high pressure water jets (10, 10') onto the both sides of the strip surfaces. The nozzles can be tilted together with the water collecting channels (2) about an axis and can be adjusted in height opposite the strip surface according to signals from a measuring device. The collecting channels are tilted against the strip running direction about a tilting point (9) independently of the nozzles.
