[origin: WO0053479A1] A trailer (1) hitched to a tow vehicle (4) has a slidably guided towing device (2) which is spring-loaded in a first position (I) by means of springs. Said towing device (2) controls a brake force regulator (9) which actuates the brake of the trailer (1). The brake force regulator (9) is also controlled by an actuator (13) which when the tow vehicle (4) brakes is actuated by an electrical transmission device between the tow vehicle (4) and the trailer (1). To adjust a defined pull of the trailer (1) acting on the tow vehicle (4) the towing device (2) can be displaced away from the first position to a second position (II) which is at a distance from the trailer (1).
