Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1079557A2] The output of an RDS encoder is supplied to a high-pass/low-pass filter and used as the modulation signal in a single sideband modulator. The resulting transmission band is broadcast as either the lower or the upper sideband of a broadcast transmitter, with the carrier suppressed. The sideband that is not used is the sideband that constitutes the audio modulation of the transmission.
