[origin: DE19823019A1] In order to enable a reliable and continuous separation of a solid material (F), the inventive separating device (1) comprises a revolving band (4) which revolves around deflection rollers (2). Transversal plates (8) and longitudinal plates (10) are arranged on said revolving band. The transversal and longitudinal plates form screen surfaces (16). Solid material (F) having a predetermined maximum dimension falls though these screen surfaces. The portions of solid material which are caught between the transversal plates (8) are automatically loosened by the revolving of the revolving band (4). In addition, portions of solid material which are caught between the longitudinal plates (10) are removed by a cleaning rake (22) thus guaranteeing an operation which is free of disturbances. The separating device (1) is especially suited for separating pyrolysis residual material.
