[origin: DE19912271A1] The invention relates to an oil separator (1) for removing oil from the crankcase ventilation gases of an internal combustion engine, comprising a cyclone which has a gas inlet that is connected to the crankcase of the internal combustion engine, a gas outlet that is connected the induction tract of the internal combustion engine and an oil outlet that is connected to an oil sump of the internal combustion engine. The novel oil separator is characterised in that instead of one single cyclone, several smaller cyclones (11, 12, 13, 14) connected in parallel are provided.
