[origin: WO0053983A1] The invention relates to a device and a method for vacuum drying, according to which, in a first step, the object to be dried is heated and pre-dried in a vacuum chamber (1), which can be closed such that it is air-tight, by means of convection heat assisted by circulating air. In a second step a vacuum is generated in the chamber and in a third step a gaseous substance is fed through said chamber. The invention notably relates to such a method for vacuum drying according to which drying can be carried out by automatic control involving the selection of suitable control quantities.
