Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1080712A2] A cosmetic or dermatological stick preparation (I) comprises a finely dispersed water-in-oil system containing: (a) an oil phase containing 10-70 wt. % of a fat and/or oil component melting above 40 degrees C; (b) a water phase; (c) modified layered silicate (MLS), which shows hydrophilic, lipophilic and amphiphilic characteristics and is located at the water-oil interface; and (d) at most 0.5 wt.% of emulsifier(s). An Independent claim is included for a method for preparing Pickering emulsions, by: (i) dispersing the MLS particles (c) in the lipid phase (a) (optionally containing cosmetic or pharmaceutical auxiliaries, additives and/or active agents) with homogeneous stirring and optionally heating; and (ii) during the homgenization mixing the water phase (b) (which also optionally contains cosmetic or pharmaceutical auxiliaries, additives and/or active agents) with the lipid phase.
