[origin: EP1081049A2] The method for automatic erecting of collapsible crates (8) uses a lift (3) which removes them from a stack and swivelling arms (6, 7) which open the sides (8b, 8k) of the crate. During opening, the base (8d) of the crate is raised at the corners (9a) by a support (9) while grippers (6b, 6h) during the swivelling (6f) operation press the top edge of the transverse wall (8b) towards the base. This wall may also be guided by a toothed guide and a counter-support (6i) during the erecting process. An Independent claim is included for a device for carrying out the method.
