Abstract (en)
The gravity lock consists of a catch (9c) engaging with aligned holes (10, 11) in the body (4) of the bin and its lid (2). The catch is located on the end of a lever (8d) connected by its pivot (8c) to an arm (8b) with a weight (8a) on its free end. In the locked position the arm is held in place by a pivoted hook (7d) with a second weighted arm (7e). When the bin is tipped for emptying into a collecting vehicle the weight (7a) on the hook arm disengages the hook, and the weight on the lever arm withdraws the catch, allowing the lid to open. The lid and bin body are e.g. of moulded plastic.

Dispositif de verrouillage/déverrouillage pour bac collecteur de déchets permettant de verrouiller/déverrouiller automatiquement, par gravité, le couvercle (2) du bac (1) à la cuve (4) du bac. Ce dispositif comprend une pièce pivotante (8) fixée de façon articulée sur la face interne du couvercle, et comportant : un levier (8d) comportant un crochet (9) s'engageant dans un orifice (13) de la cuve ; un bras (8b) venant en prise avec un crochet (7c) d'une pièce coudée (7) articulée. Des moyens sont prévus pour que le basculement du bac (1) provoque par effet de gravité le pivotement de la pièce coudée (7), puis le pivotement de la pièce pivotante (8) ainsi libérée du crochet (7c), vers une position de déverrouillage. L'invention est également relative à un bac équipé d'un tel dispositif de verrouillage/déverrouillage. <IMAGE>
