Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9962805A1] The invention relates to a transportation device for deflecting flat consignments (6) that are pinched between an endless lower belt (1) and an endless upper belt (2) and transported. The upper belt (2) is longitudinally elastic and is guided back around in an outwardly-oriented loop. The aim of the invention is to provide a cost- and space-saving means of deflecting the consignments with the consignments being subjected to as little stress as possible. To this end, the driven lower belt (1) is guided on a fixed-position, immobile guide element (3) with a sliding surface in the form of a bend section. The sliding surface has a low friction coefficient in relation to the lower belt (1) and the consignments (6). The lower belt (1) has a low friction coefficient on the side oriented towards the guide element (3) and a high friction coefficient on the side oriented towards the non-driven upper belt (2) and the consignments, and is directed inwards by deflecting rollers (7) in such a way that it loops around a driving roller (5) located inside the guide element (3) with the side with the high friction coefficient.
