Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9963490A1] In a method of personalising a computer game character, at least one two-dimensional image (I) of a character (1) of the game (e.g. the user of a personal computer connected to the Internet) is digitally processed at a server (S) remote from the player's computer by distorting a generic image (G) to match the user's face or head, converted to an animatable character file and downloaded onto the player's computer. Preferably two overlapping images are acquired by a digital camera and uploaded to the server where they are stereoscopically processed to provide an incomplete 3D representation (I) to which is compared the generic 3D representation (G), the latter being distorted to match the former.
