[origin: WO9964253A1] The invention concerns a protective sleeve for sheathing a chalk stick formed by longitudinally welding a shrinkable material sheet to form a cylinder with diameter slightly larger than the external diameter of chalk body to be sheathed. Said protective sleeve comprises two longitudinal yield lines (6) extending over its whole length and self-enclosed transverse yield lines (5) defining several sections along the sleeve length. The transverse yield lines (5) comprise a through opening (7) having a length not less than the width of the zone included between the two longitudinal yield lines (6).
