[origin: DE19914367A1] The hydraulic binder composition comprises a specified amidobetaine, ethercarboxylic acid or alkylbetaine compounds and/or a polymer containing cationic and optionally anionic groups as assistant additives. The hydraulic binder composition comprises 20-99.9 wt.% of an inorganic hydraulic binder, 0-79.95 wt.% additives and 0.05-30 wt. % of an assistant comprising (a) at least one compound of formula (I). A-(-X(-CH2)p-ZY)k (I) A = linear or branched 1-24C alkyl or 2-24C alkenyl residue which may be substituted with 1-4 OH groups, or optionally alkyl-substituted 6-24C aryl residue with a valency of k; Z = SO3<-> or COO<->; Y = a proton, a metal ion or ammonium ion; p = 1-30; X (each independently, same or different) = a group (II), (III) (IV) or E: O=C-N(R<3>)(-CH2)m-N<+>(R<1>)(R<2>) (II) O=C=L(-CH2)q-E (III) R<1>N<+>R<2> (IV) E = a group (V): O-(CH2-CH2-O-)nCH2-CH2-O (V); n = 0-30; m = 2-8; k = 1-4; q = 1-10; L = O, S or NR<3>; R<1> and R<2> each independently, same or different = linear or branched 1-12C alkyl; and R<3> = H or linear or branched 1-12 C alkyl; or (b) a polymer with a molecular weight (Mn) of at least 300 carrying at least one cationic group or at least one cationic group and one anionic group, or which bears only anionic groups, and is formed from at least 2-90 mol.% of monomers containing at least one anionic group, or a mixture of two or more of these, or a mixture of (a) and (b).
