Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9950359A2] The invention relates to an aqueous transparent powder-coating dispersion consisting of a solid, powdery component A and an aqueous component B, where component A is a transparent powder coating containing a) at least one epoxide-containing binder containing between 25 and 45 weight %, preferably between 25 and 35 weight % glycidyl-containing monomers possibly containing vinylaromatic compounds, preferably styrene; b) at least one cross-linking agent, preferably straight-chain, aliphatic dicarboxylic acids and/or polyesters having a carboxy function; and c) possibly catalysts, adjuvants, typical additives for transparent powder-coatings such as degassing agents, flow-control agents, UV absorbers, free-radical scavengers, antioxidants. Component B is an aqueous dispersion containing a) at least one non-ionic thickener and b) possibly catalysts, additives, anti-foaming agents, wetting agents, antioxidants, UV absorbers, free-radical scavengers, biocides, small quantities of solvents, flow-control agents, neutralising agents, preferably amines and/or water-retention agents, and c) a dispersing agent in the form of a non-ionic polyurethane dispersion.
