Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9964936A1] The invention concerns a method which consists in transmitting mechanical energy bursts to an oscillating regulator (O) via a leaf spring (L) capable of storing energy by elastic deformation between two bursts and of transmitting it to said regulator (O) at each burst. Said leaf spring is compressed so as to cause a fundamental natural mode buckling corresponding to a first stable position. Energy is stored in said leaf spring (L) by elastically deforming it in a second metastable position close to a higher buckling mode. Then said leaf spring (L) is destabilised by said regulator (O) motion so that it exceeds the unstable position and spontaneously tilts over into a third stable position, inverse to the first position, releasing the stored energy which is then transmitted to the regulator (O). This leaf spring (L) setting and releasing sequence is followed by an identical sequence consisting of inverse setting and releasing, said sequences being synchronised with the regulator alternating movements.
