Abstract (en)

[origin: DE19821306A1] The system has a sensor (2) with a contact element (3) biassed in a direction of motion and movable against a bias force and a detector (4) that senses the displacement of the contact element and outputs a corresp. signal. An evaluation device connected to the sensor outputs a first obstruction signal characterizing an obstruction not to be moved by the system if the sensor signal is larger than or equal to a threshold value and outputs a second obstruction signal characterizing an obstruction to be moved by the system if the sensor signal is lower than the threshold. The system either stops at the obstruction or passes around it for a first obstruction signal. For the second signal it also has the option to move the obstruction. An Independent claim is also included for a method of dealing with obstructions.
