The appliance is formed of concentric inner (4) and outer (5) tubes with the space between them filled with filter material (3). At one end the tubes are flush and closed by a disc seal (11). At the other, where the inner tube (7) projects, by a ring seal (9). Between the seals the tubes are perforated. In the projecting section a honeycomb structure (8) of catalytic material is located and a second (13) can be fitted in the centre of the tube

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zur Abgasreinigung von Brennkraftmaschinen mit einem Abgaskatalysator und einer Partikelfiltereinrichtung zum Filtern von Feststoffen aus dem Abgas, wobei die Vorrichtung als integrierte Baueinheit ausgeführt ist, die im durch die Baueinheit geführten Abgastrom den Abgaskatalysator und die Partikelfiltereinrichtung aufweist. Zweckmäßigerweise enthält die Partikelfiltereinrichtung eine ringförmige Filterstruktur, die zwischen einem perforierten Außenrohr und einem perforierten Innenrohr angeordnet ist, wobei die beiden Rohrstirnseiten abgedeckt sind und in einer Öffnung der einen Rohrstirnseite der Abgaskatalysator angeordnet ist, durch den das zugeführte Abgas in einen Innenhohlraum des Innenrohres einströmt und von dort im wesentlichen radial durch das perforierte Innenrohr, die Filterstruktur und das perforierte Außenrohr abströmt. <IMAGE>
