Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9966652A1] The invention relates to a method and device for transmitting information using varying carrier frequencies by means of a frequency hopping method. The inventive method comprises producing a table with a number of N possible carrier frequency values fx in addresses 1 to N of said table, the N possible carrier frequency values being split into n subgroups. Then, a sequence of random values is produced. At least one part M of the N carrier frequency values fx is extracted from the table. In each subgroup, the carrier frequency values are extracted from the corresponding addresses on the basis of the random value sequence generated and the subgroups are extracted in a predetermined chronological order, whereby M </= N. Information is then transmitted at carrier frequencies which correspond to the extracted carrier frequencies. The invention method and device can be used, e.g., in a mobile station and/or a base station of a mobile radio system.
