[origin: EP1088658A1] The ink application roll (2) or gravure roll (4) are supported by a play-free multi-ring bearing (5). The ink application roll is brought into contact with and moved away from the printing cylinder (1) in strokes. The gravure roll picks up ink from a vat and transfers it to the application roll.
