Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9955942A1] Polypropylene biconstituent staple fibers for the production of nonwoven web by "thermal bonding", with improved properties of mechanical isotropy and softness, obtained from a polymer mixture substantially consisting of 85 - 99.9 % by weight of polypropylene homopolymer or of polypropylene copolymer of the type normally used for the production of thermally bondable fibers, and of 0.1 - 15 % by weight of polyethylene. The invention also concerns the thermally bonded nonwoven material obtained from the staple fibers, and laminate composite materials comprising a layer of such nonwoven web coupled to a polyolefin film.
