The appliance has a filter (14), a waste air channel (16), and a waste air blower (18). Dunstabzugsvorrichtung mit einem Abluftgebläse (18) zur Abfuhr von Dunst (8) in die Außenatmosphäre eines Gebäudes und mit einem Außenumgebungsluft-Zuluftkanal (26), der vorzugsweise ein Zuluftgebläse (28) enthält, zur Zufuhr von frischer Zuluft (22) von der Außenumgebung eines Gebäudes auf die Ansaugseite (32) einer Filtervorrichtung (14). Der aufsteigende Dampf (8) dringt auf der Ansaugseite (32) in den Zuluftstrom (34) ein und dann gemeinsam mit diesem durch die Filtervorrichtung (14). Damit wird das Absaugen von warmer Küchenluft stark reduziert. <IMAGE>
