[origin: FR2793132A1] The invention concerns an apparatus comprising a handle body (A) equipped with control means and a connection piece (35) whereon is directly mounted and removably fixed an elongated element (B), for storing, dispensing and setting staples (1). The invention is characterised in that the elongated element (B) comprises a slide (6) linked to a control rod (22) capable of being actuated by first control means (40), said slide (6) comprising: projecting from its front end, a hollow needle (8) with a longitudinal slot, whereof the rear end is juxtaposed to a receiving chamber (9) of the head (T) of the first stapler (1a); opposite said receiving chamber (9), the rear end of a magazine (16) storing a plurality of staples (1); and in the extension of the hollow body (8) and the receiving chamber (9) for the staple head, a longitudinal channel (12) for a plunger (13) capable of being actuated by second control means (45); said plunger being arranged such that, when the slide (6) is in quiescent position, its free end is in said receiving chamber, and counters the reception of a staple head and that, when the slide has been moved by the first control means (22) to cause the needle (8) to project outside the elongated element and to be engaged in the tissues to be assembled, said plunger end is outside the receiving chamber (9) and can, after a staple head has been received in said chamber (9) and the second means (46) have been actuated, push said head (T) into the needle (8) channel.
