[origin: DE19826969A1] According to the inventive sequestering method, iron ions are used in addition to normal sequestering agents which in hypostoichiometric quantities, are able to delay the precipitation of the constituents of water hardness from process water and aqueous solutions. In this way, the precipitation of constituents of water hardness can be reduced considerably. The sequestering agents can optionally be used in the form of concentrates which also contain iron salts.
