[origin: DE19928877A1] A seal for the butting edges of concrete tunnel segments, or similar structures, has double profile grooves (4) in each edge. Each groove has two grooves (4',4) separated by a central ridge (6) whose flat top is recessed w.r.t. the outer edges (5) of the groove. A shaped elastomer seal (10) is clipped into one groove and sits proud of that groove. The seal presents a flat top which is pressed onto the flat top of the central ridge of the groove in the butting segment to form a secure seal over a wide fitting tolerance.
