[origin: EP1095672A1] The duct opening surround, designed to be fitted in a wall, consists of a collar (42) with a substantially semi-toroid rim (44) fitted against one side of the wall and a truncated conical section (46), and a cylindrical housing (50) surrounding the latter, with a shutter (48) interacting with the collar. The surround incorporates a ring (64) of a mouldable thermal insulation material between the collar and housing, forming a mechanical coupling for the two, which are otherwise not in contact or are connected by flexible lugs or a bayonet joint. The collar and housing can be made from sheet metal or plastic.
