[origin: WO0003750A1] The invention relates to a device for irradiating, especially for UV irradiating, a liquid. The irradiation takes place under precisely defined and reproducible operating conditions. The device comprises a rotating cylinder having an upper inflow, a lower outflow, and an irradiation unit. The cylinder forms an angle of slope ( alpha ) with the horizontal line. In addition, the lower outflow comprises two connections for continuing the delivery of the liquid, whereby a connection can be closed by a first control unit if the irradiation of the liquid deviates from the defined conditions.
