[origin: DE19808266A1] The invention relates to a method for foaming plastics by using carbon dioxide as a foaming agent. According to the inventive method, liquid or supercritical carbon dioxide is placed under an increased pressure and fed to the plastic in order to foam the plastic. The invention also relates to a device for foaming plastic by using carbon dioxide as a foaming agent where a source for liquid or supercritical carbon dioxide is connected to at least one device provided for increasing the pressure of the carbon dioxide.
