Abstract (en)
[origin: DE19932908A1] The bac gene involved in biosynthesis of anticapsin and bacilysine or their fragments, mutants and variants, is new. Independent claims are also included for: (i) an RNA sequence wholly or partly complementary to the DNA sequence of the bac gene; (ii) a recombinant vector or plasmid containing a gene for anticapsin or bacilysine; (iii) the open reading frame ywfA-C (SubtiList database) in the insert of recombinant plasmids pSB660 which participate in the function of bacilysine biosynthesis in Bacillus host species and were therefore renamed bacA to bacF; and (iv) isolating a bac gene as above.
