Abstract (en)

[origin: DE19831420A1] A nucleic acid construct (I), is new and comprises: (1) a minimal promoter (II); (2) a DNA (III) encoding for a minimal recombinant transactivator, comprising DNA coding for a DNA binding domain and a transactivation domain; (3) a minimal DNA sequence (IV) to bind the expression product of (III); (4) a minimal promoter (V) which contains a CDE-CHR element or an E2F-BS-CHR element; and (5) a minimal effector gene (VI). A nucleic acid construct (I), is new and comprises: (1) a minimal promoter (II); (2) a DNA (III) encoding for a minimal recombinant transactivator which is activated by (II), comprising: (a) DNA (IIIa) coding for a DNA binding domain; and (b) DNA (IIIb) encoding a transactivation domain, which is rich in glutamine, serine and threonine; (3) a minimal DNA sequence (IV) to bind the expression product of (III); (4) a minimal promoter (V) which contains a CDE-CHR element or an E2F-BS-CHR element and which is bound by its 5' end to the 3; end of (IV); and (5) a minimal effector gene (VI), which is activated through the binding of the expression products of (III) and (IV). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a cell (VII) containing (I); and (2) producing (I).
