[origin: WO9967442A1] A process for the preliminary treatment of a metallic workpiece before coating is disclosed. The surface to be coated is cleaned with a solution containing a degreasing agent and coated with a corrosion-inhibiting layer. In order to obtain particularly advantageous conditions, the invention proposes treating the surface of the workpiece to be coated with a solution of polyaspartic acid for applying a corrosion-inhibiting layer.
